Joseph Daniel Kaplan, 72

LYNNWOOD – Joseph Daniel Kaplan, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2018 at Northwest Medical Center in the loving company of his wife and 2 sons.

He was born in 1946 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his brothers Billy and Peter as well as his sister-in-law Judy. He had served in the U.S. Navy and then worked at the Belchertown State School as well as what was then known as James River Graphics in South Hadley, Massachusetts, and finally Kimberly Clark in Everett.

He is survived by his mother Rita, sister Anne, brother James, wife Donna, sons Keith and Shawn, daughter-in-law Shinobu, and granddaughter Sayuki.

A resident of Lynnwood for more than 14 years, he was an avid reader that enjoyed studying philosophy and various world religions. He also had a passion for classic movies. But, his greatest joy was in sharing jokes with friends and loved ones. He will be greatly missed.

The family held a private ceremony in his memory at his residence in Lynnwood.

Donations in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
